Educational Assistant - Temporary - Part-time

The successful candidate

will have the ability to work with minimal supervision under the direction of the classroom teacher and learning coach. They will provide flexible support to students/children according to their changing needs and to facilitate and encourage independence in all areas of student/child development. The Education Assistant will establish effective working relationships with teachers, parents and the community. A strong background and expertise working with students with a wide range of physical, cognitive, social and emotional differences including: Autism Spectrum Disorder Trauma Down Syndrome medically fragile mild, moderate and severe intellectually delayed ADHD self-care personal assistance Experience working with students with complex needs that includes collaboration with educational support teams and therapists, such as SLP, OT, and Behavioral Consultants is an asset.
