Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Child development.
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
Responsibilities
- Assess the children's development to prepare a learning plan tailored to each child.
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
- Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers and assist early childhood educators in carrying out programmes that promote children’s development.
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest, and preparing crafts.
- Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records and discussing progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
- Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music and physical activity.
