Diesel technician

Overview

The Diesel Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing fleet vehicles and heavy-duty trucks within the Mayfair Gearbox Fleet Division. The role requires strong mechanical expertise, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship to minimise downtime for fleet clients.

Key Responsibilities Diagnostics & Fault Finding: Diagnostics on diesel engines and related systems; use diagnostic tools and equipment to assess mechanical and electronic faults; provide accurate feedback to the foreman/service advisor for quoting and repair planning. Repairs & Maintenance: Conduct repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines and components; perform gearbox removals and refits; replace or repair clutches, differentials, prop shafts, turbochargers, and fuel system components; carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled fleet servicing; ensure all repairs are completed to Mayfair Gearbox standards.
