Design Certification Engineer 1 - Systems Safety

Overview We are seeking a full-time Design Certification Engineer 1 – Systems Safety at Garmin’s U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the system safety assessment process and generating the required analyses in support of Garmin OEM customers. Essential Functions Perform unit level safety analysis and requirement generation Interface and coordinate with OEM customers to provide system safety knowledge and documentation for Garmin systems and LRUs Perform qualitative analysis, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis and common cause analyses as required to support OEM certification needs Interface with Hardware, Software and EMC groups to ensure appropriate design assurance levels are considered Coordinate internal Garmin groups to communicate safety assessment requirements Balance multiple projects and work with multidisciplinary teams Draft and submit certification documentation required by TSOs and other regulatory standards to the...
