Job Description
The Depot Engineer will oversee the running of the Fortwilliam Train Care Facility, including the maintenance shed, Fuel Point, train wash and Shunter accommodation. In order to properly manage the maintenance of vehicles, the Depot Engineer will have to organise staff to be available to perform scheduled maintenance, defect repair, vehicle movements, vehicle fueling/CET and stabling. The Depot Engineer will also have to interact with Fleet Performance Team to identify and implement reliability improvement, of either the rolling stock or maintenance practices, or other fleet checks.
Essential Criteria • HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years railways rolling stock or engineering maintenance experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Experience of addressing Health & Safety issues.
• Experience of leading and motivating a team in order to meet key production targets.
