THE POSITION The Daycare/Head Start Cook is responsible for all aspects of the nutrition program - menu planning, shopping, food preparation, food storage and maintaining a safe, clean kitchen. Other cleaning duties for the program will be assigned as required.

REPORT TO
Daycare/ Coordinator and the Head Start Coordinator

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the nutritional requirements of young children and adults.
  • Understands and follows food regulations, policies and procedures, and safety rules/practices.
  • Ability to use traditional First Nation teachings about food to support programming for children and families, would be an asset.
