Databricks Data Engineer – Contract (Porto, Portugal | Hybrid)
We're hiring an experienced Databricks Data Engineer to help build a new Delta Lake platform from the ground up.This is a 6-month rolling contract based in Porto with 2 days onsite per week.
What you'll be doing
Building and optimizing pipelines on Databricks Delta Lake
Writing high-quality Python / PySpark in Databricks notebooks
Spark performance optimisation at scale
Implementing governance with Unity Catalog
Event-driven data ingestion using Apache Kafka
Working directly with business stakeholders on a brand-new Lakehouse architecture
What you'll need
Strong hands-on Databricks, PySpark, Spark optimisation
Experience with Kafka and Unity Catalog
Portuguese (fluent) and English (proficient)
Based in Portugal
