7-10 years in database engineering performance tuning across enterprise systems. Strong command of SQL optimization and query plan analysis tools (EXPLAIN| Query Store| AWRASH| DB2 Visual Explain). Hands-on with Mainframe data technologies DB2 for zOS| IMS DB| VSAM knowledge of JCL COBOL for data-access patterns is a plus. Solid experience with AWS RDS (MySQL Postgres SQL Server Oracle) Redshift| Athena| Glue| S3 tuning parameters| WLM| keys| partitions| compression. Proven track record improving high-throughput workloads (1000 TPS) reducing query latency| and stabilizing peak-hour performance. Expertise in index design| statistics management| partitioning| and locking concurrency (deadlocks| isolation levels). Familiarity with data modeling (OLTP vs OLAP) normalization denormalization trade-offs for performance. Proficiency with Linux and mainframe utilities for performance diagnostics scripting (Python Shell) for automation. Strong communication stakeholder management skills.
