Responsibilities

  • Monitor system performance and identify problems; respond promptly to user-reported errors.
  • Protect the database against threats or unauthorized access.
  • Ensure regular backups and recoverability in case of data loss.
  • Report on usage and performance metrics; recommend changes to maintain or improve security and reliability.
  • Regularly communicate with IT project managers and database programmers.
  • Design and maintain databases for front-end and back-end users.
  • Extract and/or load data as required.
  • Implement cyber security measures and ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Keep hardware and software up to date.
  • Validate data quality and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer technology or a related field; advanced MCDBA or MCSD for .NET is advantageous.
