Job Description
The
Database Administrator
is responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of the organization's databases. This role encompasses the planning, development, and maintenance of database systems, while also supporting business continuity through data consistency, availability, and compliance with healthcare regulations. The DBA will work closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support application development, optimize performance, and safeguard sensitive healthcare data.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Monitor database performance and implement changes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Ensure database security, including user access controls, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Perform regular backups and implement recovery protocols in the event of data loss.
