Job Description
I am looking for a data specialist or programmer to help convert large tax roll datasets from a fixed-width ASCII format into a clean, usable CSV format.
Project Scope:
Data Access: You will be provided with SFTP credentials (accessed via FileZilla).
The Data: You will be working with two primary files: The full Tax Roll and the Delinquent Tax Roll (updated weekly).
The Challenge: These files are not standard CSVs; they are formatted in fixed-width ASCII.
Requirement: You must use the provided file layout/schema (available on the SFTP) to accurately map and parse the data into a structured format.
Deliverables:
A script or process to convert the fixed-width files into a CSV.
The final cleaned CSV file containing all mapped fields from the layout.
(Optional) A brief explanation of the process so we can run updates weekly as the files refresh.
