Custodian

Position Purpose

Under supervision from the Residential Operations Custodial Supervisor, performs a wide variety of cleaning and unskilled building maintenance tasks which include heavy lifting activities inside and outside the College’s student residential facilities. These facilities include residence halls, affinity houses, and college-owned Greek houses. Maintains cleaning and bathroom supply inventories. Notes machine and furniture repair and replacement needs and completes appropriate work request forms and damage reports. Implements recycling procedures. Communicates effectively with students, answering questions about relevant Residential Operations policies and procedures. Ability to operate and maintain various machines and hand operated tools, such as vacuum cleaners and floor waxers.
