Applications are invited from suitably experienced and qualified Firefighters and Crew Managers. Eligible applicants will need to meet the following criteria as a minimum:

  • Hold a substantive wholetime contract in the Service.

  • Be a competent substantive Firefighter.

  • If you hold a rank within your On-Call role but not in your Wholetime role, you must have been successful at a Leading Others assessment centre (if undertaken prior to April 2024) or all 3 elements of the Leading Others Assessment (if undertaken after April 2024) to be eligible for promotion into Wholetime. The three elements are ICS Test of Potential, Drill Ground Assessment and Leading Others leadership potential skills build session.

  • Able to demonstrate and evidence significant leadership experience.

  • Not subject to formal performance improvement actions, nor have any live disciplinary sanctions.
