Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Controller to oversee bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial reporting, and tax support for multiple Canadian and U.S. entities in the real estate sector. This role requires strong ASPE knowledge, hands-on accounting experience, and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Review bookkeeping and accounting records for multiple entities, ensuring opening balances are supported and compliant with ASPE.
  • Reconcile opening balances prepared by property management companies and investigate discrepancies using supporting documents.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure cash and intercompany transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including HST and payroll, and ensure accounts are ready for year-end tax preparation.<...
