Construction Inspector

SUMMARY Under general supervision of the Public Works Supervisor, performs inspection of public infrastructure, including water, sanitary sewer, drainage, and street construction improvements. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY None ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Inspects all aspects of public infrastructure construction and reconstruction performed by contractors, developers, and public utility companies.
• Coordinates with contractors on construction methods, sequencing, and public safety measures.
• Ensures construction work is performed in accordance with applicable plans, standards, and specifications.
• Locates and marks underground utilities using specialized equipment and maps.
• Coordinates and/or performs testing of water and sanitary sewer line pressure and vacuum, and witness testing of concrete pavement and structures.
