Job Description
Our client based in Tedderfield, Johannesburg is seeking a technically skilled Composite Design Draftsman to produce 3D models, 2D drawings, mould tools, layup documentation, and production‑ready composite part details.
This individual will support our engineers, composite manufacturing team, and tooling fabricators to ensure that composite parts are accurate, manufacturable, lightweight, and consistent.
This role is essential to ensuring our composite structures meet mechanical, aesthetic, and certification standards while enabling smooth production. This role reports to the Engineering Manager.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Composite Part & Assembly Drafting:
Create accurate 3D CAD models and 2D drawings of composite components, assemblies, and sub‑structures.
Develop mould layout drawings, surface models, and trim templates.
Prepare draft angles, parting lines, and laminate stack‑up details in collaboration with engineers.
