Responsibilities
- Select suppliers for existing products using proven procurement skills in an automotive environment (TS16949, AIAG).
- Reduce year over year costs through aggressive negotiations, resourcing, market testing, value analysis, long term agreements, business incentives, annual improvement factors, and supply base management.
- Recommend supplier process utilization by interpreting blueprints and evaluating customer needs.
- Explore and pursue cost reduction opportunities using cost-model tools and bubble charts.
- Explore available and new technologies in the market and implement best practices related to purchasing activities.
- Develop new suppliers that meet BW cost, quality and delivery requirements.
- Prepare and lead RFQs for multi year full production quantities.
- Evaluate part designs with engineering, quality, and suppliers to obtain optimum efficiencies.
