The CNC Programmer I is a junior-level position that collaborates closely with the CNC Programmer II, focusing on less complex projects. The role involves generating tool paths and set-up sheets for company equipment based on customer-approved drawings and 3D models. This position requires close interaction with sales, engineering, and operations to ensure manufacturability and customer satisfaction.
**Responsibilities**
+ Interpret 2D blueprints (including GD&T tolerancing) and 3D CAD models to create machining strategies using CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam for 3-axis CNC mills (vertical and horizontal).
+ Generate G&M code for machines.
+ Select standard cutting tools, design job-specific cutting tools, and plan their usage.
+ Support operations and purchasing to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of cutting tools.
