At 1:30 PM, you step onto the floor for second shift (Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM–10:00 PM). You review blueprints and shop drawings, plan your sequence, and set up the CNC laser to tackle the evening’s production runs. You run parts, inspect in-process features, and verify tolerances. You keep the line moving—loading material with an overhead hoist or crane, adjusting parameters for clean edges, and performing routine maintenance like cleaning, sharpening, and swapping wear items. You wrap the shift with final inspections and a spotless, safe work area.
