Overview

An opportunity has arisen to perform a support role in the Department of Cellular Pathology at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.

Cellular Pathology is a busy but friendly department which deals with approx. 21,000 biopsy requests and 1,100 diagnostic cytology per year. The department is UKAS accredited to ISO 15189.

Responsibilities

  • Reception of clinical specimens and entry of patient data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Stock control, equipment maintenance, filing and specimen disposal.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Standard Grade English and one other subject, preferably a science subject, or SVQ level 3.
  • Previous experience working in an NHS Medical Laboratory.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, ability to multi‑task.
