Chief Engineer

The role: The Chief Engineer is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all engineering and technical systems onboard a vessel transporting natural gas. This includes propulsion, power generation, cargo‑related systems, and auxiliary machinery. The role ensures full compliance with company policies, class requirements, flag state regulations, and international codes applicable to natural gas operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all engineering systems onboard the vessel, including propulsion plants, generators, boilers, compressors, pumps, and auxiliary machinery.
• Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of cargo‑related systems, including compressors, vaporizers, inert gas systems, loading and distribution, and associated control and safety systems.
• Ensure compliance with the IGC Code, STCW, ISM Code, MARPOL, and applicable class and flag state requirements.
