Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our restaurant and social enterprise training centre. The Chef will play a key role in food preparation, menu development, and mentoring refugee newcomers in a supportive, culturally diverse kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Develop menus that reflect cultural diversity and meet customer needs
  • Train and mentor refugee newcomers in kitchen skills and Canadian food safety practices
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of the kitchen
  • Manage food inventory and minimize waste
  • Comply with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Mandatory: Lived experience as a refugee
  • Proven experience working as a Chef or in a similar kitchen role
