Overview

The Certified Millwright/Industrial Mechanic Millwright performs troubleshooting, maintenance, inspection, installation, and fabrication of industrial equipment in a manufacturing setting. It includes welding, carpentry, pipefitting, automotive, mechanical and masonry maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions, prints and work orders for job. Interpret drawings and sketches, plan details of working procedures, tools and materials requirements. Make sketches showing construction details for fabrication or remodeling work. Plan sequence of operations and job methods. Make calculations essential in estimating material requirements.
• Select materials for the job. Lay out work and determine stock sizes as required. Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded as required.
