Job Description

  • Assists shop team with any required tasks.
  • Load and unload materials, and move materials to work areas
  • Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and help in other activities
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants, and remove asbestos and other hazardous materials
  • Drive specialized trucks (float/low-bed) to move heavy equipment, vehicles, or materials.
  • Properly load, balance, secure (tarping), and unload cargo using chains, binders, and straps.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle and equipment checks (tires, brakes, lights).
  • Adhere to all provincial/national transport regulations, including logbooks and potential permits.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding schedules and issues.
