Catering Assistant

The Catering Assistant plays an important role in supporting the preparation and service of nutritious school meals while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming dining environment.

Working as part of the kitchen team, you will assist with food preparation, meal service, cleaning duties, and dining hall set‑up, ensuring a positive experience for pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic food preparation and cooking duties as directed by the Cook or Catering Manager.
• Set up and clear dining areas, including tables, chairs, cutlery, and service stations.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen, dining areas, and food service equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and catering equipment and ensure items are stored correctly.
