Cargo Handling Equipment Operator

Overview

As a Cargo Handling Equipment Operator you will be responsible for the efficient planned movement of containers compliant with safety, quality, time and cost guidelines.

What You’ll Do

• Upon reporting for work:
  • Attend toolbox meeting, to know expected outgoing and incoming cargo. Any cargo requiring special handling, port time of vessel/s for the day, cargo stowing plan.
  • Receive Container Movement plan from Operations Supervisor as a guide for container movements from lift to stage.
• Ask CY leader for unit assignment.
• Perform actual inspection of the assigned unit using the Equipment and safety Inspection Checklist.
• Strictly and consistently comply with safety 2p’s for operations and in equipment handling.
• Immediately report any noticed unusual behavior/response of unit in use and stop use to avoid any complications that can lead to further damage and delay.
