• A car mechanic, also known as an automotive technician, is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure they run efficiently and safely. They perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot vehicle problems, and replace or repair faulty parts. Car mechanics work on all types of vehicles, from passenger cars to trucks, and are skilled in a wide range of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, exhaust systems, and electrical systems.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED is generally required.
• Formal education or training in automotive technology (e.g., a certificate or associate degree in automotive repair) is preferred.

Experience:
