(CAN) Pharmacy Assistant

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Assistant assists the Pharmacist in technical aspects of prescription filling and administrative duties to enable the Pharmacist to provide patient care. The Assistant participates in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations and supports superior customer service.

What You’ll Do

• Receiving prescriptions from patients, following provincial legal/regulatory conditions and assessing prescriptions for completeness (Name, Address, DOB, Allergies, 3rd Party Information, Special Requests, Prescriber, Generic/Brand) and prioritizing with 21st Century Guidelines.
• Performing computer functions as directed by the Pharmacist, such as data entry, price checks, patient information updates, interpretation of written prescriptions (including Latin abbreviations), dosage calculations, refills, report generation, and patient profile checks.
