JOB SUMMARY
CAD Operator supports technical trades, of all disciplines through a variety of tasks including proposal drawings and sketches, maintain design drawings for production, keep directory of drawings up to date and documented.
WORK ACTIVITIES
Understands the equations, calculations and written instructions from designers and engineers before beginning a CAD drawing.
Prepares engineering drawings utilizing AutoCAD applications for such features as site plans, foundation and plans, front, rear and side elevations, cross sections and schedules.
Fill in technical details using drawings, rough sketches, specifications and calculations made by the engineers and surveyors.
Uses manual drawing skills for plans that cannot be computer generated.
Revises/modifies existing drawings based on instructions from engineers or architects.
Visiting sites to gather information and determine limitations and feasibility of designs.
