Building Inspector

Responsibilities

Building Inspectors are responsible for building inspections, building permit applications, plan review and enforcement of the National Building Code (NBC), the National Energy Code (NECB), The Construction Codes Act and Building Bylaw, and as defined by the Building Code Regulations, respecting buildings that are within the scope of a Building Official License.

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Technology diploma in architecture, engineering or a related field, or Journeyperson
• Certificate of Qualifications in a construction‑related trade within the meaning of the Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Act
• Licensed as a Class I (or higher) Building Inspector by the Saskatchewan Building and Technical Standards Branch, or the ability to obtain a Building Official Class I License within one year
• Valid Driver's License
