Fellowship Opportunity

The Line, in partnership with Build Canada, is seeking an investigative journalist to devote one year to in‑depth reporting on Canada's infrastructure, innovation, productivity and federal spending. The role focuses on uncovering the stories that shape the country's future and delivering them in a variety of formats.

What You'll Do

Over the course of one year you will produce a series of investigative pieces on Canada’s infrastructure gaps, innovation failures, productivity deficits and federal spending. Topics may include the Major Projects Office, Defence Investment Agency, Build Canada Homes, inter‑provincial trade, federal spending and transfers, and other recent programs designed to boost Canadian growth.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum five years of journalism experience with a track record of published investigative work that demonstrates range and depth.
