What you will be doing

  • Preparing accounts and financial statements for sole traders and audit-exempt clients
  • Maintaining books and records using accounting software
  • Assisting with income tax, corporation tax and VAT returns
  • Liaising with clients to complete accounts and tax work
  • Processing payroll
  • Supporting the Practice Manager with client service delivery
  • What you will need

  • Degree or bookkeeping qualification
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an accounting practice
  • Good knowledge of accounting standards
  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting/payroll software (BrightPay, Surf, Xero, Sage, Thesaurus)
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work independently as part of a team
  • Strong interest in learning and career progression
