DESCRIPTION

The Backfill Operator is part of the Process Operations team. He/She is responsible for operating the backfill circuit and works closely with the Mine Department. He/She ensures optimization of the backfill circuit in accordance with established performance indicators. He/She identifies operational and mechanical issues related to equipment within the assigned area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure proper operation of equipment using a DCS control system and by performing periodic mechanical inspections, including:
  • Hydraulic pumps
  • Backfill mixer
  • Aggregate, slag, and cement silos
  • All associated auxiliary equipment
