Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to architect, implement, and manage the cloud infrastructure for a new greenfield application. The application will initially serve the South African insurance market, with eventual expansion to international markets. This role begins as an individual contributor but has a growth path to lead and mentor a cloud engineering team as the project develops.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Design: Design scalable, secure, and cost-optimised AWS cloud architecture for a new insurance policy management and analytics platform.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and manage infrastructure using Terraform or AWS CDK for repeatable, version-controlled deployments.
Account & Security Setup: Configure AWS accounts, IAM roles, policies, and security baselines compliant with POPIA and other relevant regulations.
