Job Description
In the Computational Materials Group, we focus on the development and use of computational and theoretical methods to understand and predict the behavior of solids, liquids, and nanostructures from first principles at the atomic scale.
In this exciting opportunity, we are seeking an assistant materials scientist to contribute to the group research on the properties of semiconductor and insulators for energy and quantum technology applications. The research encompasses the development of methods and codes to study the interaction between materials and light, and the study of specific materials, in particular oxides. Specifically, the focus of the research is on properties of defective materials to understand how they can be used for quantum technology applications, including sensing and communication, and on the properties of surfaces and interfaces relevant to electrochemistry and photochemistry processes relevant to energy applications.
