Become a vital part of Weston Forest Products as an Assistant Controller, located in Brampton, Ontario. This permanent, full-time position offers a unique opportunity to impact financial strategy and operations.
The Assistant Controller will report directly to the Director of Finance and support financial reporting and operational finance activities across the enterprise. In this role, you'll ensure compliance with accounting standards, oversee month-end processes, and mentor AP/AR and Costing personnel while promoting continuous improvement in financial practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support preparation of consolidated financial reports
• Manage month-end and year-end financial activities
• Ensure accuracy of general ledger entries
• Review and resolve balance sheet discrepancies
• Assist in audits and regulatory compliance
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
• CPA preferred; active enrollment is a plus
