Asphalt Plant Operator - Hampton

Job Title:

•   Asphalt  Plant Operator Location: Hampton, VA Department:   Manufacturing Reports to:   Plant Superintendent Major Role and Purpose :  Operates asphalt plant to batch, crush and/or segregate materials used in construction.


• Assist with assembling, adjusting, maintaining, repairing and disassembling plant equipment as needed.

Description of Duties :

• Moves controls to heat, dry, mix ingredients to produce asphalt paving materials.


• Control weighing, feeding, crushing and sifting machinery.
• Observes gauges, dials and operation of machinery to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Basic knowledge regarding the use of computers in plant operation.
• May repair and/or make adjustments to the machinery.
• Uses various hand tools.
• Basic mechanical skills to assist with plant maintenance.
