Job Description
Based in North Bay , the Aquatic Ecologist will report to the Environmental Department Lead and will perform duties focused on environmental assessment, species at risk, and aquatic studies.
This is a new contract position—with the possibility of conversion to full time—salary range $50,000 to $78,000.
Responsibilities
- Design and perform aquatic habitat and biota surveys to meet regulatory or project-specific requirements.
- Record clear, concise field data under varied conditions, including inclement weather and night.
- Conduct fish and fish habitat assessments using various gear and sampling techniques across aquatic environments.
- Assess project impacts on Natural Heritage features and prepare mitigation strategies.
