Role and Facility

We are seeking two full-time General Anesthesiologists to join our team at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre (ARHCC). These vacancies are due to planned increases in elective surgical volumes and staffing changes.

Scope of Practice

ARHCC is a regional referral centre and Level II trauma centre, opened in 2008. Our group includes 15 FTE Anesthesiologists. We care for most surgeries expected of a Regional Hospital: General Surgery, Obstetrics (≈2700 births per year), Gynecology, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Vascular and Dental. Cardiac, Thoracic and Neurosurgery are not performed.

Anesthesiologists are expected to anesthetise pediatric patients aged 4 y and over for elective surgical slates, occasional 2‑4 y olds for emergencies, and rarely provide airway assistance with neonatal intubations.
