Position Overview

We are looking for an Anesthesia Assistant (AA) to join our Anesthesia Care Team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (primary site), University of Alberta Hospital, and Sturgeon Community Hospital. This multi‑site role offers a diverse work environment and the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. The AA will use expert knowledge, clinical inquiry, and assessment skills to guide complex clinical decisions in time‑sensitive situations under the direction of licensed anesthesiologists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive pre‑operative patient assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate anesthesia care plans.
  • Administer and monitor medical interventions.
  • Facilitate advanced communication and coordination with the surgeon, surgical team, and anesthesiologist.
