AI Systems Engineer

Vertex is looking for AI Systems Engineers who design end-to-end intelligent systems combining models, tools, and workflows. We are building a curated pool of senior AI engineers for upcoming roles with partner/ client companies. Selection into the pool is based on experience, technical depth, and demonstrated production impact. Responsibilities - Design and implement AI systems using RAG, agents, and orchestration logic - Integrate structured and unstructured data into decision workflows - Build APIs and services that expose AI capabilities to products - Optimize systems for accuracy, cost, and reliability - Own system behaviour from design through production iteration Requirements Strong backend engineering skills Hands-on experience with RAG, agents, or decision pipelines Experience integrating LLMs with external tools and services Ability to reason about system-level trade-offs Proven production deployment experience Experience in Heathcare and Finance Industries.
