AI Software Developer Needed – Construction Drawing Symbol Quantification Tool
I am looking for an experienced AI/software developer to build a tool that can automatically quantify symbols from construction drawings/build plans to significantly speed up the pricing and estimating process.
Project Overview
We work with technical drawings (PDF format) for service and trade projects. These drawings contain various symbols representing different components (e.g. detectors, cameras, sockets, devices, etc.).
The goal is to develop AI-powered software that can:
Upload construction drawings (PDF format)
Identify and recognise predefined symbols
Count/quantify each symbol type accurately
Output a structured breakdown (e.g. Excel or CSV export)
Potentially calculate preliminary pricing based on pre-set rates
This tool should reduce manual take-off time and improve estimating accuracy.
