Position: Advanced Marine Welder

Location: Norfolk, Virginia

Serco is hiring an Advanced Marine Welder to join a dynamic team supporting U.S. Navy ships with equipment and C5ISR installations.

In The Advanced Marine Welder Role, You Will

• Assemble pieces of metal together or repair damage in metal components using heavy machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal into shape
• Review blueprints
• Cut metal into the appropriate shape
• Smooth metal to remove creases
• Climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders, work in kneeling position for layout of cable runs under false decking, lift 50 pounds with 80% of work requiring carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 pounds for majority of shift while being in a standing, crouching, or walking position
• May train personnel on machinery tools and test equipment
