Responsibilities

By following the established person‑centered programs, you provide support to participants in a manner that maximizes their potential and quality of life. Some duties include: plan and implement programs within the Day Program and community; discuss and plan activities with the participants when developing and planning programming; teach and promote independence and choice; plan and carry out community‑based programming on a one‑to‑one or small group basis in and around the community; provide physical and personal support to participants as necessary; deal effectively with participants’ behaviours.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Previous experience working with people with developmental disabilities; related training is an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector check is a condition of employment.
