Position Overview

Guided by Like No Other , Athabasca University seeks a dedicated Abilities Management Specialist to develop, implement and coordinate the Abilities Management Program. The role reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and provides expertise and support to clients and stakeholders, ensuring a safe and healthy workplace that complies with human rights, employment, and occupational health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

The Abilities Management Specialist will:

  • Develop and implement the short‑term and long‑term abilities case management processes.
  • Coordinate education and awareness programs, resources and tools that promote equity, inclusion and employee wellness.
  • Ensure program compliance with all relevant legislation and organizational policies.
  • Provide consultative support to staff, managers and external stakeholders regarding abilities management.
