Job Summary

The Part-Time rd Class Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance of facility systems such as heating, cooling, refrigeration, steam, water, and electrical equipment. The role includes interpreting system readings, performing repairs, maintaining logs, ensuring equipment is in good working condition, and occasionally leading other workers. The position requires a DC rd Class Engineer License or higher and the ability to work nights and weekends.

Primary Job Functions

  • Safely and efficiently operate and maintain all assigned plant equipment during assigned watch.

  • Operate and maintain systems providing heat, air-conditioning (cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, filtering, circulating air), refrigeration, steam, water, or electricity.

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment as defined in the contract or Statement of Work.
