Job Summary

The Laboratory Assistant performs a variety of duties associated with laboratory tests and analyses. Work can involve but is not limited to: registration and collecting of bloods (inpatient, outpatient, ER patients and pediatric) and other specimens from patients, delivering specimens to the laboratory, sorting, recording, centrifuging, preparing samples for analysis, packaging specimens to transport to other testing locations, performing a variety of manual and automated tests, staining and cover-slipping of slides in various depts., dumping of surgical specimens, plating of microbiology specimens and other lab related duties.
